Last Day of the Fair in F Covington  to Day Went to P.O. Bought of V & B on credit 100 lb of Flour 3.50 1/2 yd of Cloth 40 1 lb Tea  65 1/2 Bushel of Salt  25 4 Papers from AJ Baker sent 2 to Charlie Postage 4 cents paid  Matches paid  Got a Paper from Charlie a Barge Loading Ashes at J Grant Ashery  A Treat from Mrs Summers 90 cents with Norman shot 2 Ducks up in the Cord Wood Bay did not Get them

15th Sunday Rob Kennedy and 4 of Jim McDougalls Boys here wanting to see if I had any Gun Flints Gave them a handfull of them Grapes turning

17th got the Potatoes at the soap made a Paddle shot some Ducks

18th at the soap the soap dont make very well made another Paddle

19th Went to the Kit Kit Island shot a Duck took home a Load of Wood Blue Jays came 2 Men crofsed over to Charlies Island I thought it was Jim Hopkins they fired shots there

20th Raining Fixing the sticks at the Manure heap went to the {illegible} Point cut a swarth of Marsh hay Eat some Butternuts yesterday at the Kit Kit the only ones I saw this year

21st at the Potatoes 46 Bushels in now a Great many Rotting of them Found the hens nest with 4 Eggs in it went to the Sturgeon Island caught a Pickerel no Ducks the Manitoba went Down with a Raft Fixing the Birch Log at the shore Raising it out of the water the Water is very Low

23rd Piling up manure in the yard a Fine Day tonight there was Great Rolls of Thunder and Lightning all continually with  {illegible} the Thunder the same the thunder much {cut off}

Took Dinner at Suples seen Mr Mulverhill and the Barber treated me Bought of Rob {illegible} Tobacco Matches Pipes Got 2 Butter Tennets from Robert 30 lb Weightone helped Mr Baker to crofs his horses a Devil of a Bother to catch them Christee here stopt all night

30th very windy seen 2 Draws Lashed together coming Down went out Gordon and I and stopt them Christee made a {illegible} 2 Men came Dubal and Rousseau to look after the Raft

31st Raftmen Making Paddles Christee went off

1st of September Sunday the men tried to go but the wind was too high had to turn Back put myself and Gordons name on our Paddles salting the horses

2nd Drawing Wood out of the swamp

3rd D McMasters Birth Day Raftmen went off Took in the Top onions about 2 Bushels

4th cutting Down trees in the Bush took in apples

5th 5th John Angus Birth Day I went to Viponds Bought 1 pair of Boots 1..65 1/2 lb Tea 1 Doz Buttons (2 lb shot 1/2 lb Tob on Credit) caps matches at John Hamiltons got the scythe heard Henerys Louise was Kicked of the Boat for stealing The Manitoba came for the Raft got 5 Dollars from them

6th Dog Days End Went to Mr Viponds Bought 2 1/2 yds cloth at 80 cents 8 yds Cotton 12 1/2 short 7/6 Thread 3 lb Powder paper paid all this called at Roses took Dinner there Got the adze
