4th Got 2 Rats and 1 Foot First time Gordon skinned a Rat Fixing my Traps set six in the Back Marsh  Fixing Traps at night Piling up Wood

5th Went down to the Sturgeon Island for the stick I left there Gordon and I took it home To  {illegible}  manure put some on the Rol{ink blot} Ground very heavy Thunder and sharp Lightning not much rain here got a Rat First Frost this morning East Wind turned to West  Renaud went up a Great Deal of Towing Ducks not plenty seen no Wild Geese yet

6th a very Fine Day some wind and calm The Osprey and Manitoba coming up the Manitoba turned at the Light house and took a Large square sail  Barge in town that stopt the Race with the Osprey very heavy  Lightning and Thunder to night and Rain 2 men passed up in a Bun came from Rofs Island Got a Rat took Salts

very unwell this morning at the Potatoes {illegible} 3 People passed close in a Boat 2 men and a Woman and a Dog and tommorow the Boat Passed up this morning with I think one of the Salemeaus in it

25 Went around the Island Found a Bottle the Renaud Began turning Back from Cornwall the same Day and stopping all night at Lancaster went to the head of the Island took home a Load of Wood heavy Rain and wind got all wet Pairing apples at night

26th Cleaning the stove pipes cleaned the onions yesterday 5 Bushels of Potatoe onions and 1 1/2 or 2 of Top Onions Drawing wood With the Horse the first time I put harnefs on him Drew 3 Jags of Marsh hay took the Birch Log up on the Bank the Boy Towed Down a Raft

27th Gathering Grapes and Cranberries a Good Deal of shooting evenly some the Mice very Plenty now

28th Went with the wool to Mrs Rose Bought (6 Windows of Glass 18 cents 1 lb of putty 7 cents on credit) 1/2 lb of Cut Tobacco paid matches paid Mrs Summers 10 cents for a Treat I had on the 14th Mr Spinks and I Fishing Perch at G Renshaws for a 15 Gallon cask for Mrs Summers Movedon the Front hunting Kenneth McDonald poorly A Fine Day Henery Bosell Getting Timber afloat
