Thur Aug 16. Fine day. Finished cutting at Willie ’s. Uncle and I at Thornhill in the evening.


Fri Aug 17. Warm and came a little shower. Uncle done cutting. Aunt Kate, also Mary and the children, here to spend the day. The men here in afternoon.


Sat Aug 18. Very warm. Men at Willie’s. Lizzie here for tea. Also [Herbert Parcell?]. Mrs. Clarke called in the afternoon. Aunt Mattie came home this A.M.


Sun Aug 19. Very, very warm. Thundered but very little rain. Uncle, Aunt Mattie and I at evening Church.


Mon Aug 20. Very warm and sultry. The men all here for tea.


Tue Aug 21. Very, very warm. Men at Mrs. Clarke’s thrashing. Annie here for tea.


Wed Aug 22. Very warm. Men at Willie’s until it came a heavy storm in afternoon. William left.


Thur Aug 23. Rained and thundered in the afternoon. Willie started thrashing at noon. Earnest Bovel died this morning. Aunt Nellie and I went down to call at Mrs. Bovel’s in the evening. A little cooler at night.


Fri Aug 24. Fine and very cool. We started to thrash at noon.


Sat Aug 25. Fine but warm again. Finished thrashing at noon. Aunt Nellie and I at the funeral.


Sun Aug 26. Fine but very, very warm. Uncle, Aunt Nellie and I at Church. I went to Fisherville. Uncle and Aunt Mattie at Mother’s for tea.
