Monday, January 24 Weather - Fair & cold, a perfect winter day Eggs - 105 - 1 duck egg Gertie went down to Rodicks to help in the morning Cut down dead maple tree at the corner of the garden After dinner I made a trip to the {yonge? written in red indicating its by a different person} to meet some friends of the Rodicks coming out to the funeral of Miss Sadie Rodick which was a very large funeral I went down in the evening to bring Gertie home John brought his battery up to be changed

Tuesday, January 25 Weather - Partly fair, Mod-cold, north wind Eggs 90 - duck Haslled in ice, {Jrene?} came over in the afternoon with the children, Jein came over after supper and spent the evening Mangenile & Jack came later Dorothy & Della were up from school for a sort while Kicke cover presented us with {illegible} calf Sent 10 hogs to city
