July Friday 15 1927

A wet day so we didn't do much but clean up around and do chores at the barn all day. Jean & I cut each others hair in the morning. I cut thistles in the pasture for a while after supper.

Saturday 16

Dandy warm muggy morning when Dan and I both plowed hay ground. Hoed turnips in afternoon. Dan had to take his operator's exam so had to go to town early. Consequently Jean & I didn't go but went for a swim at dark when I had finished cutting five rounds of hay with the old team.

Sunday 17

Jean and I attended church and heard Mr. Wilson preach a wonderful sermon about children on his last Sunday before his holidays. Cuninghams were here for dinner. And supper. Drove Lou's two 'Pa's" down around the flats in my buggy after a heavy shower to see the cattle. Had a nice ride to Paris when we saw Aunt Tuby off on the 5.40.
