September 1884

1 Monday. The Schools opened for the fall Mr. Monro, Principal (Seales exit), McQuaig Assistant, (Sharan exit) Robertson Public Schools Miss Toulton Primary school Dr Hunt's 6 week infant died 10. A.M.
2 Mrs Hunt is very low. they sent to Montr. for a Dr to see her
3 Pa & I went to Cornwall all today I saw R.R. McLennan Pa got his watch. letter from Far
4 Settled with Dan for the egg trade bought 2 straw hats 25 = 1 lb Ex L wood 20 1/4 lb vit = 5 cts 1 pct B. color 10 - a bullr of 12 cts. = 75.
5 1/2 lb Logwood 10. 1 pct B. colour 10 11 lb gran sugar 100 = 14 lb brown 1.20 butchered a yearling weather .25 2.00
6 1/2 lb logwood 10 1 pct B. color 10 vitral 3 finished colouring and it looks well peeled and cut the cucumbers I am not feeling well 1 pair booties for Birdie 23 1.25
7 I have a very sore back can scarcely stir I did not go to Church today<
8 Monday. It showered all day. The {lachers?} had a Temperance prayermeeting and at night Mr McGilliavry gave a good lecture, what he saw of the Scot Act in, the Maritm {Maritime} Provinces. I paid 50 cts for Temperance fee got 14 lb sugar 100. at Dan's .50 1.00

9 Quite an exciting time in the County of Halton a vote taken on the repeal of the Scot Act today Pa and Jimie went to the funeral of Alick McDougald 4th Lancaster. Had a letter from Far. And a telegram to meet him a Lancaster I am making preserves
10 Far came last night - he has a slow fever I was at Prayer Meeting. The Scot Act has been carried in Halton Greate religious rejoicing
11 Annie paid her rent $800

I paid Dan 1.79 of a debt made in July

16 Fine today we are taking up our roots
18Far & Jimie & Murdy were at the fair we took 1st prize for Brutus of Helen 2 $1. 1st for for Mangolds 5th for apples 1. 3rd for buckwheat T. 2nd for carrots 50 = 5.50 got 100 of flour 1 lb ten at Dan's we painted the Kitchen floor
