Th. 1st. Carried John Kennedy 6 Bs ad two thirds of potatoes at 30 c. per B. = $2.00. Posted a money letter and registered the same; it was to the Agricultural Mutual Insurance company and contained Three Dolrs. Bought and paid for a pair of shoes for Albert $1.00 of James George. Cut some wood and fetched the sow from Zants boar, due Zant 50 c. for the same.
F 2nd. Mr. J. Goble Killed four pigs and a calf for us.
S. 3rd. Took two pigs and the calf to Port Elgin to sell, sold the pigs to E Gordon the pay to be half cash and the other half trade, they weighed each 175 lbs = 350 at 53/4 = $20.12 Paid Roberts A/C. $4.50. paid my own A/C $2.45. received cash $10.00. and a due bill for $3.16 = $20-12. Sold 1 hind quarter of Veal to John Stafford at 5 cts per lb. weight 23 lbs which = equals $115. Paid him for half a days Thrashing with team $1.00. and received 15 cts cash. Sold Gordon and Duncan 1 hind quarter of Veal at 5 c. weight 221/2 equals 1121/2 c goods 571/2 cts. due bill fifty five. Sold 1 fore quarter of Veal to John MacIntosh @ 4c. weight 21 lbs equals 84 c. on A/C. sold Lehnen 421/2 cents worth and paid him 71/2 cents cash and let the whole go to my a/c with the new church society. Sold Robert MacLachlin 28 cts worth on a/c. Sold Tobias Shantz 25 cts worth cash. Paid Mr John Goble 25 c. for an inch and half auger. Fetched a grist from the mill for Mr. Goble. Bought a pair of shoes of J. George for my wife $1.75 pd.
M. 5th. Paid George Roppel $10.00 cash on his A/C which amounts to $17.50 from which I have to deduct for 3 Bushls of peas at 42 c. per B. $1.44 c. and I gave him six cents of to make it $1.50 so that there is an amount of six Dolrs. still due him. Took 11 Bushls of peas to mill to chop for the cattle.
T. 6th. Helped Schwendker to commence at the saw logs and prepared to go to mill took a grist to mill 8 bags of wheat. and one of corn. Wood to of George 1 cord = 80 cts. Bought of Dilman Bricker. Two collers two pair of harness
