August

W. 1st. Hoeing corn.

Th. 2nd. Hoeing Turnips.

F. 3rd. Cut some wheat plowing etc.

S. 4th. Cutting wheat. The past week the bull was to Mr. J. D. Davidsons Cows. Sent 101/2 of flour with bag to Levi Eby.

S. 5th. The Rev. Turk preached in German on the evening of Th. F. & S. today administered the Sacrement of baptism to two children and the Sacrement of the Lords Supper to those who were willing to partake thereof: before the Sacrements he preached in German; in the evening in English.

M. 6th. Finished cutting fall wheat.

T. 7th. Commenced cutting peas in the afternoon. commenced hauling in fall wheat 14 loads or 7 bushls.

W. 8th. Finished hauling in fall wheat 200 Shock. Mr. Eby brought back the flour he borrowed.

Th. 9th. I was making fence for C F S. and Vater was cutting peas for me in return. Father and Robert cutting peas.

F. 10th. Making fence for C F S. and Vater in return was helping Robert to cut peas. Father helping Eby to thrash at Davids.

S. 11th. Vater helping me & Robert to cut peas we finish. Father this afternoon helping Stuart to thrash.

M. 13th. Fixed a tongue into the wagon etc.

T. 14th. Took the wool to Port Elgin to be manufactured and the plows to be fixed. Gave J. MacIntosh $1.50 in cash to buy two new shares in Southampton. Received a letter from Uncle Fred. fixed my ox yoke.

W. 15th. Cutting timothy seed and turning peas.

Th. 16th. Mowing barley Rob cutting timothy seed Father dying thistles and draging.

F. 17th. C F S. 3/4 of a day hauling in peas for us. Salter a cow to bull.

S. 18th. C F S. 1/2 day hauling in peas for us. Last evening and this morning 1/4 of day hauling wheat for C F S.
