1884 November 1 Dan Drew in the few turnips & Beats there was only 2 or 3 ridges next the east fence Ad came home with the Grist at dark it rained quite hard too I hear the Revd Mr Gifford this morning we had no minister 3 Ad & Dan went out to the 6th con to stump & plow I am fixing a door for the front of the house for Ad came home last & went back this morning they are stumping & ditching the ground is very wet in the swamp 5 rain & snow most of the day we put the cows in the stable for the first time Ad went back early this morning Dan has stoped there 6 the roads very rough Ad did not go back to day very hard Frost last night everything is closed up 7:00 Ad went back to the chanty this morning it is raining windy & stormy looking ate Ad went back to the Chevy this morning he is ditching then is plowing fellow went with him they intend to bring the pet cow home they did so Dan brought home a load of wood to Thompson's place 9 heard the Revd IB preach we had n1 10 Ad & dad killed the hog this morning at a moved to Thompson's house this afternoon Dan went to The Chanty after took a load of hey with him 11 Ad is fixing about the house getting things fixed I am fixing stuff for to put in the noon windows 12 I covered the grapes Vines & other chores 13 Ad is fixing at home Dan is plowing at The Chanty 14 Ad went to the Chanty to ditch they did all that they could do & came home at night Dan brought a load of wood 15 Dan plowed in the northeast corner of the Corn next John Johnson's the ground is very dry Ad took 11 News to John Cook's Southdown Ram 16 Mr McKinnon preached this morning & at Fairfax in the afternoon 17 Dan plowed Ad got a horse from Jay Stacy to flower with Kate he plowed in the afternoon along with Dan 18 heavy Frost last night so that no plow Dan tried but could do nothing he brought the plows home he picked up wood in the bush here
