1885

August 1 we drew in 3 loads but them in the new barn from the midle field east line
2 Revd Mr Gifford preached this morning Mr Ross at night
3 heavy rain all day Ad & Noris worked at his barn got the rod for the hay Fork up & other fixings
4 Ad is fixing at the barn Noris mode in the midle field rain in the afternoon
5 rain this morning Noris is splitting & sawing wood Ad went to Gananoque for pine lumber for his barn door
6 Noris finished cuting the middle this 4 noon he went to the north field I raked up what was there they drew in part & cocked up the rest
7 Noris mode in the Northfield I raked up all that was cut they drew in & cocked all that was left of it it was after dark they drew in 3 loads of it to Ads Barn this afternoon unloaded it with the hay Fork it works well in the course Timothy side note the hay Fork is hard to get into fine hay
8 Noris finished the Northfield this morning they got it all in after dark young gray raked in the afternoon I went with Revd Mr Greacie to Sand Bay he preached Mr Ross took Morehead horse up & he brought it back side note they finished our hang expect some corners
9 Revd Mr Greacie preached this morning & at Sand Bay he dispensed the Sacrament in the afternoon there were 35 communicants
10 they cut the black barley with the sides it is good Noris got part of Wallaces hay he broke the mower Ad finished it with the size
11 I raked it up & cocked it up Noris is not well find a very warm
12 Ad & Noris drew in Wallaces hay & our barley I helped Jennie went to the outlet for what & Bruce Sanders they went to Gananoque to work
13 Ad & Noris is cuting the fall wheat it is a good deal winter killed & Sicily Ad cuting with more
14 Noris cut part of the barley Ad went out to Sand Bay to see the crops there they are middling heavy rain at noon with wind
15 Noris finished cuting the barley & cocked some of it we drew it all in 2 small loads I raked it & the fall wheat ground Ad cocked it there is a heavy crop of L sight clover on it side note they went with {illegible} Charlies {illegible}
