Frank and I went down this morning and got a load of soft coal to thrash with as Clair Deal told me last night that they had a load in and it seems to be rather scarce these days. We heard that Barwell had to but the saw mill in order to get slanbs to us eon the tugs in place of coal. It is $15.00 per ton. We called at Mrs. Battersby's on our eway down and took some books for from there down to SAunty's which Miss Phipps wanted to send to Sunday school library. We also took the cart wheels down ansd senrt them to Brantford to be re-rubber-tired. Dad. cultivated with Belle while we were gone. We hauled oin one load of hay before dinner and this after noon finished hauling all the hay this sid eof ther gully in one load and a few cocks which we left on the ewaggon on the old barn to feed to the bulkls. GFrank went over and rake dup Ivey's hay forthem and Dad. amnd I went and cocked up what there was on the othert sid eof the gully. Beautiful day. Fine but nit hot.
