to see Perce Ryerse and got some estimates on building a house. I showed him some plans which Marj. got out of the Pictorial Review and he thought they were very good. We had rather picked on one small house plan which was arranged to save space and was about 20' x 20' on the ground Perce said that if I hauled all the gravel and material for it this winter, he thought he could put it up for between 12 & 15 hundred, in the spring. I went down to Aunty's and Marj. met me there, she had been at Miss McQueen's for tea. Fine but a raw wind.

Friday October 7th

It was raining first thing this morning so that I didn't go up to Ham's but Dad. and I intend driving up and seeing what they were going to do about silo-filling but just as we were ready to go it started in to rain again and has been raining all the after noon. I just did chores this morning and started to do the church books. I worked at them this after noon and practised painting a little. We did the chores up early and Marj. and I went to bed soon after tea to get warm as the house is chilly these days
