to make two trips as the colts and Pommers wouldn't follow the first time. He brought Belle up and we trimmed her feet. Bill Sidway came over after a ram, we only had one ram lamb left and Bill was rather dubious about taking him as he was small but a very blocky little fellow. We persuaded him to take him and try him so we caught him and shut him up as Bill didn't want to take him in the buggy so in about half an hour he was back with the waggon and a crate. He gave me $9 for him if he will do. This after noon Dad. got the mower out to cut down seed but it began to rain as he was hooking up that he had to come in and it rained hard nearly all the after noon. I spent most of the time lettering a card for Dad. to mount his 10 ct bet on that he won from Harry Moon at Pinafore concert.

Thursday October 20th

It was too wet to do much here this morning so we went down town to get a load of slates as Dad found out from {Draper?} that we could. Howey told us they were $1.50 a load so we hauled one load this morning and two more this after noon. Marj. went down

with us this. orning to get Molly to help her with the boys supper on Saturday nioght. I didn't come home for dinner so when we pit on the first load this after noon I went down to Aunty's to see if she was expecting a ride home but she said she would walk. I waited there till I thought Dad. would be back for the next load and then went up, but he wasn't there yet so I wernt on over anf talked to Quint for awhile. He was {illegible} the back wood shed. Huby went to Turley Point fir a day or two to-day. Dad. and I didn't get home till after five and then we noticed the horses in on the wheat so had to go back and put them them out nd it was well after dark when we got the milking done. We did the other chores after tea and soen tabout an bour sorting out the chickens adter Da. and Tid. helped me catch them. Cold & drizzle
