in the present building programme, and the Japs British and Americans are building some ships which surpass anything yet planned in the way of deadly destructiveness. It seems to me that the most hopeful sign is fact that all the strongest nations are going to meet at one table and appear to have a desire for peace while I don't believe public sentiments were ever quite so much aroused and popular opinion more decidely opposed to preparations for war.
Saturday November 12th
Dad and I put the snow fences up around the stack this morning and. Five of them didn't quite reach all the way around so Dad. made a short panel out of slabs and out in. If the cattle dont break them they should be plenty of protection and enable us to save the straw for most of the winter. This after noon I didn't do any rthing much ex cept chase the colts out out of the orchard. They seem possessed to get into some sor tof mischief Dad. spent most of the after noon fixing the fence they broke between the horse stable and the barn.
