read to him quite awhile. Enah went over to Mrs. McLaughlin's to a bridge party this after noon and Marj. went over about five o'clock and had tea I went over about six with the lantern to meet them as it was very dark and waited out by the cook-house till the party was over.
Saturday November 19th
Dad. went out and ploughed this morning. I did up the chores and went out about ten o'clock to open some ditches in the corn field. I ploughed for Dad. while he went over to look at Pickford's mare This after noon it rained nearly the whole time Tom. Butler came through on his way to town and he helped us put the sheep in the colony yard and Dad. & I picked out the ones for Mr. Death. We could only get six young ewes from the ones we culled out so we had to put in a couple of our own flock and we put in the two old ones 17 & 18 which are good ones in to replace them. We got pretty wet working with them. Aunty Hattie from New York came this morning for a few days. Enah went down this after noon to see her. Marj. & I went down to-night. She went to Miss McQueen's & I to the Tuxis meeting.
