except the north door which was covered with moisture given one coat and also painted the panel of {paper?} in the nursery which had never been done. I went out to the gully for awhile and tried to roll some of my logs into the creek which was running full and I thought might float the logs down to the far end of the gully where they would be easily loaded. I couldn't do much at it alone so thought I would go over to-night when I took Ina home and get Frank to come out to-morrow and help me. However while I was out doing chores Ina walked home so I didn't bother hooking up as I was rather tired after last night's performance. Mild.

We had another thunder storm this morning early and heavy fusilade of hail with it. It has been cloudy and disagreeable all day with several showers and is colder to-night. I didn't do much inside or out except chores and write a letter to Miss Bain, as Marj. had a letter from Phyl. yesterday, describing Dorrie's thrilling adventure which Miss Bain told us in a card she had had but didnt tell us the nature of it. She was alone in the office sitting by the coal stove when she fainted, fell against the stove and didn't come too till she was very badly burned. Phyl said she was getting along nicely but would not be able to go back to the office for a couple of weeks yet. Phyl thinks her faint was due to hunger as she says she doesn't eat enough breakfast

It has been a little colder to-day but brighter. I didn't do anything much but chores and put up the blinds in the nursery for Marj. The hens are beginning to do pretty well now. We got 19 eggs yesterday & 17 to-day.
