mark out the corn ground. They told me there that the band was going down to meet the "Colonial" which is the new passenger boat from Erie making its first trip to-day and which was due to arrive at noon. I went up to Bill's at ten as he told me yesterday but he had old Jack Cromwell in the chair and said he wouldn't be ready for me for another hour so I went down to Charlie Bridgewater's and he regaled me with tales of the war. I went back to the dentist at eleven but Bill said his wife wanted to go down and see the boat come in so I had better come back at two. I then went down to Aunty's & had dinner and then joined thenband and went down to th doclm to welcome the new boat, and when that affair was over Bill filled my tooth. It was rather late when I got over to the farm but Dad. had just finished marking and Frank had got a good start at planting. I helped him plant the rest and we finished soon after six and Harry B. & I came home.
