a great deal of credit for rigging up so fine an outfit from such scanty material. I had on my everyday pants & an ordinary shirt, pants were rolled under and tied above my calves and my shirt was open at the neck and sleeves rolled up. A fancy handkerchief which had been part of a work bag was tied around my head and the mate to it which to make the work bag had a hole cut in the middle hund loosely around my neck with my head through the hole. Marj. arranged horse hair and curtain rings on an elastic band so that when I put it around my head I had wisps of coarse black hair a pigtail & ear rings to adorn my piratical visage.

She cut the tops off an oldpair pf shoes and sewed on large cardboard buckles covered with tea lead and finally tied severla coloured pieces of cloth around my waist for a sasah. Then by blackening my eyebrows and addinf some purpleish & red wax paint which Harry Moon gave me to my face, arnms & legs, I think as far a sappearance was concerned I was as repulsive amnd any buckaneer that ever sailed the Spanish main.
