Wednesday September 23rd

I pulled corn here and piled it this morning while Dad. & Frank put on a load over home and took it down. Frank came out here this after noon and put on what I had pulled and helped me finish the field. We got down there about five and didn't have to wait very long to get unloaded but it was dark when I got home. We just had 2380 on. The field didn't turn out nearly as well as I thought it would before we started. There is still a patch back of the barn but we will leave that for a day or two. The Bagley's were over this after noon to invite Marj. to a party there on Friday. Marj. canned corn to-day. Froze slightly last night, no damage. Fine & cool to-night.

Thrusday September 24th

Marj. & I spent about an hour this morning stretching a couple of pieces of short woven wire around the end of the orchard to prevent the cows from getting into the dooryard and from there anywhere else in the country. We thought we had a cow proof fence but when I got home to-night I found Mary out. The fence kept the other two in the orchard and Mary must have jumped it. I put her in the barnyard and then drove the other two around and

by the time I got them there Mary had disappeared. It was dark then and Marj. wanted to have tea so I let her go and when I went out after tea I found the ghorse stable door was open which I must have left unbarred had blown open and Mary wa sin there with my good harness down and in an awful mess. I was mad enough to kill her. I went over home about 10 a.m. and Frank and I pi=ulled and piled corm till non and oaded it and took it down this after noon. We had quite a kong wait to get unloaded a sit was fairlymlate when I got home, but I met Roy Homcard on the Winding Hill with a big load when I was cvoming up home. Quint took Dad. 7 Enah up to Coulbourne to-day to see if dad. could get a certified ci=opy of Fa's marriage certificate, but their church records don't go back far enough. Dad. didn't think it was vitally importantn as Mr. Parks had has the original but it is not certified
