18th of Dec 1901 Jupiter Brightest this Evening Frosty this Morning East Wind Turned Fine Randolph here he shot one of those Large White Owls Leander and Stanley with the Horse Drawing Laying Down Wood Randolph and Leander went for Ducks Baking to Day shot a Muskrast Killed the Black Bull Began after 3 oclock and had part of him for supper Freezing to night Jupiter did not show Bright to night as expected
19th Fortunate Day East Wind Cloudy Freezing Making Ice some The small owl in the Bush this Winter again First churning with the crock churn From the Natural Biscuit company of Toronto The 2 Boys at Wood in the Bush The Ice took on the shoals and Rushes to Rofs Island
20th A Fortunate Day Took the Big Pot over to the old House for to Butcher the pigs Fine Day some cool sun shining Lots of Floating Ice going Down took the Pig out of the Pen about 10 oclock Killed the 2 pigs to Day E Wind Freezing To night there is a Strip taken from here to the Little Island North side a Big Owl Flying around those White ones from the Far North
21st Unfortunate Day St Thomas Day Fine Fair and Frosty East Wind Banking the House with Manure sun warm Eddy Renshaw here Last Day of Fall Shortest Day in the year
22nd no First Day of Winter Fine Day Gordon here {folded over} Big Coat Fernandez came had my 2 {folded over} and pair of Drawers Eddy here For{folded over} Wrote a Letter to send to Jessie Got {folded over} From her on the 21st
