Queen in and then walked back to Art's after them. Bobbie didn't get out. I shouldn't have left them out this morning. It made us late with tea and to add to the lateness Gay upset the coal oil can and spilled a gallon or so all over the kitchen floor and it took Marj. some quite awhile to sop it up. Marj. saved a lot of it by squeezing it into the wash basin. I was late getting through with the chores. It is not quite so cold to-night.

Friday November 27th

I spent most of the fore noon trying to persuade Marj. it was time to get up. I didn't get out very early myself and called her first when I left to go over to the schoolhouse. Marj. had put the kids to bed and she & I had a supper principally composed of fresh cheese after which I milked. It has rained nearly all day but not hard. The frost is out of the ground again and it is very mild to-night.

It turned cold again during the night and froze up solid and it has been very cold with a high nor' west wind all day. It snowed a little this fore-noon but has been clear the rest of the day. I walked down to Wilbur's this forenoon to tell him to take the bull over to Dad's. and I stopped in at Trum's to ask him to leave me some buckwheat when he takes the milk. I spent a long time after dinner trying to rock Harry B. to sleep but without success and I then
