This being "mom-mom\s" birthday we all went down to Aunty's to celebrate it as they had asked us last week. We got down just a little before dinner time in spite of amking a try at getting away early. We had a roast of Quint's venison for dinner and Quint and Tim were both there W=Quiont just back from Detroit last night where he has been trying to rais esome money from a bankrupt firm that he & young Stewart did a lot of work for a year ago. He didn't have much li=uck and seems to have reversed his former exalted opinion of the people of the United States and now thinks they are all a bunch of crooks. He & I went up town after Aunty'smail after dinner and I took 9 eggs all we could spare to Amy Turner Prker. Marj. took a dozen to Mrs. Skey and then I wemnt around to see Miss Newell who is in a very dilapitated state, but Marj. said she was very glad to see here and carry on a buit of gossip. Fine day milder.
