I expected to spill him at every corner but he stuck like a leech. I saw Quint up town and he said Dad. & Dick (Barrett) were down town trying to telephone Ade Millman who had called up last night and asked to talk to Dad. As they had sent to Ade to get our marriage certificate from the Toronto registry office, they supposed some thing was wrong with it. Quint was on his way to Aunty's for dinner so I drove him down and I stayed there too. Bert & Dick came along with a sleigh load of parcels and hooked to the cutter again and this time Bert undertook to do the surf board stunt but the sleigh upset in front of George Thompson's house and spilled Bert and groceries along the road for about 20 feet. Dad. and Dick. came down to Aunty's just after we arrived. They had not been able to get Ade so Dick went up right after dinner to wait for Ade to call. Dad waited some time for Enah who was up town some place but wouldn't have dinner. He thought I would be too late for me to get any oats chopped. Aunty thought I had better go up to the drugstore to wait with Dick in case Ade wanted some data on our wedding which Dick would not be able to supply. We waited there for an hour or so. Ade had put in a call before Dick got up there and after we had been there for a long time one of the switch board beauties (?) told us that it had
