had spilled most of our milk when he was putting it in the mailbox so he took the other pail and sent up a little more with the kids when they came to school but at that we only got about half what we should have. I just did chores this morning and did some sgushing for Marj. and this after noon I spent down town at the dentists. He filled three more teeth for me. It was about six when I got home. Marj. invited Mabel & Mrs. Walker over to tea so that she would have company while I went to band practice to-night. Mabel came but Mrs. Walker didnt get here till about seven o'clock and we were nearly through tea. I went down to practice and we had a good one although there weren't many out. There was an exhibition hockey match on between Brantford & Dover Intermediates. Brantford won 8-6. Cold day & frosty but fine night.

Tuesday February 23rd

Marj. Harry B. Gay and I all went down to Aunty's for dinner to-day leaving the baby in Ina's care as she was here washing. I had to go over to Trum's before we left and get the milk as they didn't send it this morning. Marj. went to the dentist's before dinner and her tooth hurt her afterwards. I went over to the Canning Factory and contracted for 2½ acres each of peas & corn. They have raised the price of peas to $40.00 per ton. Quint and I set up a foundation for a hook mat for Aunty Alice this after noon. Marj. and Harry B went up town after dinner with some eggs for Amy and I went up late with Quint for the mail and met them up there. We ran across Warrie Banfield. We came home about five and I drove Ina home. Fine & sunny.

Wednesday February 24th

It was a cold night the mercury dropping to zero and there was a heavy fog this morning with the trees all coated with a beautiful rime. It has been. abeautiful day, sunny with what little wind there was from the south but changingthis afternoon to the east. I wernt over home this morning and Frank and I went down to get a load of coal for over there and I intended getting a. load for here this afternoon but as they had nothing but the old soft coal we just got one load and each took half as Huby said they expected some Alberta coal in right away and we heard to-night that it came this after noon We came out here this after noon with the coal and then went back and put. alittle jag of straw on and haukedit over to the horse stable. We took Marj. and the kids over
