Easter Sunday April 4th

Aunty Alice was very anxious to have us go to church to-day but Marj. felt too miserable to go out or to have me go and leave her alone with the kids so we all stayed home and put in a quiet day. This after noon Harry B. and I drove over home as I wanted to make arrangements to go for hay to-morrow I am right out. We got the milk on our way home. Cloudy & raw inclined to drizzle.

Monday April 5th

The ground was white with snow this morning and it snowed a heavy wet snow all forenoon but cleared up and got colder this afternoon. I drove over to the farm this morning and took Harry B. as he is going to stay there during the Easter holidays. We didn't start after the hay till after dinner when it had stopped storming. We took Queen & old Charlie and the iron wheeled waggon and the road between Wilbur Ryerse's and the cheese factory was so heavy it was all they could do to pull the empty rack so could only put on enough hay for a day or two and we found the stack was soaked through so it was more like silage than hay and very heavy.
