and horses out as soon as I got through and left them out all day. They seemed to get a little picking but were keen for their hay to-night. I spent the remainder off the day raking up leaves around the yard and while I made quite a clearance there is still a large part of the yard unraked. I also wheeled some manure & mulched the little apple trees on the lawn as well as the currant bushes, rhubarb, roses and any thing else that was showing after first forking around them Harry B and Gay were out playing all after noon. Gay slept nearly all morning but Harry B was out from breakfast time till nearly dark except for a short nap after dinner. Mabel was here for dinner. Ina was here all day and I took her home before tea as it was looking like rain. Marj. varnished the nursery floor and is about all in to-night. It was a very fine day although the wind was rather cold, till the middle of the after noon when the wind changed from west to south east and it clouded up. Raining hard to-night.

Wednesday April 28th

It rained nearly all night and was drizzling a little this morning but did not rain much to-day but has been cloudy and windy, clearing this evening. Marj. was in bed all day so I had to be in the house most of the time and it was too disagreeable to let the kids outdoors. While they were all asleep this after noon I went out and managed to get the woodshed moved over the width of itself but didn't get it levelled up. I wanted to move it so that I could build a lean-to back of it and not block the pretty view up the gully from the kitchen window. I had to set bread to-night and by the time I got tea and the kids to bed and the dishes washed it was nearly midnight and I was about all in. I always seem to get knocked out when I have to stay in.

Thursday April 29th

Marj got up this morning but felt pretty weak and it was kate by the time we got through breakfast. I levelle dup the wood shed first thing getting Harry B. to sit on the end of the lever while I placed bricks I had to use a window box full of earth yesterday to hold the lever down. I soen tmost of the day making a coal bin in the wnd of the wood shed and now have one that will hold 4 or 5 tons probably more than I can
