Friday May 7th

I made another attempt to plough the corn stubble this morning. ut it was still too wet so I harrowed it over thinking that if the top was scratched up a little it might dry better. I also harrowed the hill next the school house this after noon and but it was in better shape and I believe would plough. As we had 15 doz eggs to take to town and I didn't want to take the time Marj/. drove doan and doid her trading. She tried to get Glad law, Essie, and Belle Smith in town to go woith her and hold Queen for her while she wa sin the sgore but as they were all otherwise engaged Belle sent Mr. Smith down with her. She called around by the farm and saiid Dad. & Frank ha dall the sheep sheared but three. She left me to fee dthe baby and by the time I got that done and the litle. chickens herded back into their brooder house, when it began to cool outside, I didn't get much else done except. alittle more of yard raked. They celebrated Arbout Day at the school yard to-day and Harry B. attennded representing the family. he wentover and came back all by himself and said he had a good time I saw him over in the woods with some of the boys. Fine & warm
