telling of the judges decision and it was blazoned on the front page of the Brantford Expositor to-night with a heading nearly as big as that announcing the defeat of Meighen's government by one vote. First thing this fore noon a big car drove in the lane & a young man came over to where Dad was raking and held a long interview with him. Finally Dad. called me over and introduced him as Mr. Pearce of the Simcoe Reformer. He said a press despatch had come through from Toronto this morning and he wanted all the details he could get.
Dad. was loath to say much but when he found the papers had got as much as they had he thought it was no use trying to keep any of it quiet. Pearce had not been gone long when Mr. McKinnes the Presbyterian minister drove in & said that a friend of his on the Hamilton Herald had called him up and asked him to come over and get an interview with Dad. About five o'clock Mr. Barwell drove over. He was half dead with a bad headache but he said he couldn't resist coming over to congratulate Dad. & showed him the Brantford Expositor which had under big headlines
