he didn't stay long. We then all drove over there and got a few potatoes and took Tim a birthday present for to-morrow. He & Frank were skating on the pond. Marj. spent the evening reading a detective story that she got for Dick and was then scared to go to bed. I sat up trying to draw a horses head that looked like Josie to embellish a couple of verses that Marj. composed to go on a horse blanket that the family are giving Josie for Christmas. Much milder and snowing to-night.
Monday December 20th
It snowed several inches in the night and I went out before daylight and swept paths, but I might have saved my time as it has thawed with a misty rain all day and to-night the snow is all gone. Art came over and finished his cupboard to-day. I spent most of the forenoon tinkering around the barn. I carried up scocial rails from the road and covered over the stall that I am going to fix for the calves with rails and hay.
This after noon I did chores worked a little at the cjicken pen and then Joe & her Lee Long came with a load of hay so I helped them pout it off and by that time it was time to do night chores.Tom hauled a load of gravel for the lane this morning but ha dto have his team shod.
