JANUARY FRIDAY 14 1887 Having slept in H.C. Holcombs house last night I found myself here this morning. The weather being stormy all day to day I have scarcely left the house. Was sorry no not to visit with {Anile?} more scarcely having spoken to her all day. Took her this evening over to the post office {?} there to Mrs. Cookes where a company of young people was gathered for mutial edification. Spent the evening very pleasantly. I am staying over night.

JANUARY SATURDAY 15 1887 Had breckfast at Mr. Cookes this morning. Went afterwards over to Mr. Hortons and to H. C. Holcom'sEsq. to bid them good bye. Started from Mr Cookes at about ten o' clock and had a properous journey homeward. The ride was a pretty cold one however. as I had to face a cold North West wind all the way. Got home about seven o'clock this evening and was glad to find them all well and everything in good {sha?}
