August SUNDAY 14 1887

Took Mr. Walter Adrley out to meeting in Port Dover with me this morning, He did not seem to appreciate our service as much as I thought he might. But, Comeing from Montreal, where has he has resided for five years is perhaps sufficient reason. Enjoy the morning service very much. It seemed indeed to be God's house and the gate of Heaven to my soul. I can truely say as did the Psalmist I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God then to dwell in the tents of wickeness.

August MONDAY 15 1887

Have been geting in oats the boys and I, with all our might. Succeeded in geting the last load in the barn to night. Got in eight loads more the latter being from the new ground field. Had twenty three loads of oats in all. The barn is well filled. Unccupied space being rather scarce. Our last heiffer came in to day, for this season. Expect to have fourteen or fifteen cows when the calves are all disposed of. The rainless weather still continues.
