September 1885

1. Tuesday. To 4 1/2 lbs stew 6 = 26 cts rain to day
2 I have a boil on the left-side of my neck and it pains me a good deal. The four schools are opened and a pretty fair attendance already Mrs Ross here to tea To tea at Dan's 2 lbs 1.00 1.00
3 Womans meeting at Jimmie Dingwalls. R.R I dd not go my boil is sore. Pa & the boys are drawing stones from Peelow's to the Game lot
4 Pa got the Engineers Award about the ditch. And will go to Cornwall today. To 2 loaves 10 10
5 Lacrosse today here between ours & Alexandria ours won three Alex one. To 4 lbs stew 25 = Even McColl. Bard of Kingston was with us last night and to breakfast today, he is sell a book of his poems. in English. Pa took 1 To 3 loaves 15. 1 lb crackers 10 1.25 .25
6 Very fine day. heavy grey frost last night I was not in Church today Marvin was vaccinated last week it did not take. Dr Hunt & wife are off West to Chatham
7 Fine day Far went to Lancaster for lumber. paid {apenny?} 2.24
8 Birdie's birthday I washed today. Sabbath School Pic Nic tomorrow Going to William Campbells We got 1/2 barrel of herring at Willie's Monday 3.25 = Lumber cost
9 It began to rain last evening and it still raining 7 P.M. The wind was very high all night and most of today 30 apples of our Dutchers fell off I think there is not 30 more on it The Pic Nic was held in the Hall. I was not thair There was a preasant of some chinee dishes mounted on silver presented to Mrs Leitch Flora Stewart McDonald, value 16.00. it was a present from the Sabbath School
