Current Page Transcription [edit] [history]

Dad. had to act as chairman and Enah had to play for them. They walked as the roads are so rough and I dont know what time they got home. Marj. and Tim hounded me into fixing their Christmas tree in place and then they decorated it, and they decorated the walls with the greens we three got last Wednesday down on Dicky {Name?} side hill

Saturday December 24th

Dad. and I managed to get in a small jag of corn stalks this morning and then we went down to Aunty's for dinner to meet Dick who came in on the one o'clock car. He was down till about four o'clock and then we did the chores up. Dick & Quint came over about six for tea but didn't stay long afterwards. Marj. and I went down town with them to-night as Marj. wanted to take some Christmas presents to the Bagleys, but we stopped in at Aunty's and while we were there Essie came down with some she wanted to leave there for Marj. so we didn't have to go up town. Dick and Quint went off but Marj. & I went home early Dick stayed down at Aunty's all night.

Sunday December 25th

Marj. and I went down to Sunday school this morning but were late. Everybody from our household came out to church but much to everyone's disappointment Mr. Cornish was not able to be out. He is evidently played out completely after all the work & worry he has had, but Mr. Cornish is able to be up and around. Cousin Willy took the service and John S. Martin gave a short address on the Christmas lesson and they had the Christmas music. Dad. Enah & Tid went around to the James' after dinne church for dinner and Marj. & I went down to Aunty's Dick was there too and before we got through Dess came in with something for Win. so she had a cup of coffee with us. I came home right after dinner and did up the chores. Dad. & Marj. came home about four and Enah & Tid about six. Marj. spent the evening fixing up candy boxes and decorations for to-morrow.

Monday December 26th

To-day we celebrated Christmas with festivities. Dad.
