7th of August 1900 a Fortunate Day rained all last night raining today turned fine about 11 o clock East Wind began rained hard Mr Genie came had huckleberries sugar tea Cornelius for oil 2 of the boys crofsed Fernandez stopped all night or working at Jo 's or Renshaw's brought a sythe with him big storms Winds thunder lightning hail bad weather for harvesting buildings blown Down

8th fine rained Wind Mr Genie fishing perch gave him a loaf and butter Stanley slept in the new house to night Leander and Minnie crofsed to Summerstown sent the letter to Uneta company it will go tomorrow night W Wind Mr Genie went off very very warm today mowing in the flat first crop of hay there trimming some at the cherry trees tonight is the meeting at the manse in respect for Rev Mr Mathieson some old potatoes yet lots of cucumbers and beans black birds bad on the Grain and corn on this day of the month David Fraser Departed a year ago today spreading and opening out the coils rain tonight

10th raining this morning Windy fine fixed 2 new fishing lines with rods Sinker and hooks my watch is taking a turn to stop rained a few drops tonight Leander to Stanley Island tonight came about 10 minutes past 12 o clock spreading the coils and making coils mowing in the flat took the old potatoes out of the Bun

August 11th 1900 fine Windy morning West kind of smoky or Foggy began mowing the wheat cleaning my Bun and putting a bow and Stern piece in today Thunder cloudy began raining made coils in the flat mowed the wheat up to the dead Butternut Tree would finish cutting only had to coil the hay the Ladysmith a Pleasure Trip Down the river North Wind tonight Fernandez came to night took home the sythe a piece of the wheat to be cut yet

12th fine day as we don't get many of them East Wind cloudy to the Southwest Leander tonight Church Fernandez off to work blackbirds tearing away at the grain

13th E Wind fine cloudy to the West commenced fine hay back at the Big Stone Heap the hay in the flat and back of the old garden and in the old Garden commenced again to rain finished the stack rain rained all night our yard is a bad mess pig pens too so much rain

14th raining study Leander went to Cornwall with the wool about pounds 11 chickens yesterday brought 2 kinds of yarn grey and white 6 lb each 2 kinds of cloth 1 lb of soda rained hard tonight Mr Hollister and son here for fish worm as they are capped on Alexis Island fixing my boat Stanley letting the water run out of the cellar of the new house

15th fine day cutting the rest of the wheat turning the wheat began cutting the oats at the ash tree Fernandez came a big vessel went up one tub of butter to Jo Douquetts and 20 Doz of Eggs Indians for butter 25 cents 9 tub sold now
