Thursday June 12th 1879 had a splendid rain today, with much thunder and lightning. rain was wanted and will do good.had postcard today notifying me of having again secured prize for distributing trees.

Friday June 13th

a lovely day and very warm.

Wednesday June 18th have written nothing for many days. feel entierly unable to do anything.suffering much at night from headache and general bebility. the weather continues raw with showers daily,and altogether is very uncomfortable.sarah has gone to town to see Dr.Evans. I had no wish to visit him as I have lost all hope of receiving any benefit and now feel inclined to leave all in tje hand of my Creator "let me do onto me what seems good in his sight" received by last mail a splendid Waltham watch from Starr & Wellington as first prize for good delivery of orders. Mary returned from Picton on Monday evening having been away for a week. Saturday-report all we;; back there. shall I ever be able to revisit Picton, or anywhere else? my weakness now is becoming distressing and apparently no relief. have just been sending Hanran's victory over Elliott on the water.what will the Englishmen say beaten by a stripling on the water.
