August,1926 1 Sunday. Very sultry and showery. We went to S. School this morning and went up to Heidelberg and had our dinner at Emerson's We were at Mabel Shaner's {Schaner} funeral this afternoon and had our supper at Shaner's and came home in a real downpour of rain 2 Monday. Very sultry Walter picked cherries and helped to pit them and we did up twenty-two sealers. Vernon & Aubrey filled in the old well in the back orchard. 3 Tuesday. Sultry & dreary. Walter helped Ella with the washing this morning. Vernon & Aubrey were drawing home rails from the pasture field.
