== May 1919 == 1st Thur. Started to rain about 9 o'clock. Alex came down from the field. I washed a few things. Elizabeth very cross. Alex started the wood house with red oakes, has it nearly done. {some scribbles, possibly done by Elizabeth} 2nd Misty. Alex finished the wood house. I ironed. Not much doing. 3rd Sat. Misty in Eve. Raining hard when we went to bed. Elizabeth can't go out. I was out to see Mrs Sills a minute. Father down in A.M. Walter here all day helping Alex burn brush. 4th Sun. Cleared in the night. We all went to church in afternoon and a terrible thunder storm came up. poured rain coming home. H. Sills here in Eve. 5th Mon. Rained in A.M. Mabel here in afternoon. Walter here all day, they were busy in the {?}. Roy Frink & Alfred Jones here in afternoon. 6th Tue. Fine. cool wind. Alex & I started for town with calves & we had to turn & come back as they were not shipping. Father down & took Elizabeth up home. we went for her in Eve. We cleaned front room. {in margin} they buried Miss Morrow
