1st Wed New Years Day. Mild. I was {illegible} Alex up to the house to get {illegible} & they finished straightening {illegible}{Illegible} all {illegible}
2nd Thur. Fine. Baked bread. Over to Mrs Sills in afternoon to Guild.
3rd Fri. Stormed a little. Wilfred {illegible} on his way to the {illegible}, we went to Bath in afternoon.
4th Sat. Bright & cold. At {illegible}. Alex doing chores. {Illegible} nearly all day.
5th Sun. Very cold. Bright. I went to church in A.M. with Sills as Elizabeth has a cold. {Illegible} in afternoon. H. Sills here in eve.
6th Mon. Cold. Blustery. I washed. Alex went out to vote. Father went with {illegible} {John Smiths?} got {illegible} Alex {illegible} his {illegible}.
7th Tues. Stormy. Wilfrid {illegible} cut wood. {Illegible} went {illegible} Alex to Bath in afternoon to get {illegible}.
February 1919
28th Fri. Fine windy. Had 6 men for dinner, sawing wood, the saw didn't work well. Alex went down to J Youngs to help, Millers had another party to-night.

March 1919
1st Sat. Blustery. Alex down to J. Youngs for dinner. Mabel here awhile in afternoon.
2nd Sun. Grand. We all went to church in A.M. Elizabeth stayed up home for dinner & they all came down for tea. I was over to Sills a few minutes.
3rd Mon. Most perfect. We washed. Had a big one. Alex drew some straw down. Father & Mabel went to Bath. Mrs. J. Young called.
4th Tues. Rained in Eve. {?} some and got ready for Box social at T. Mellows. We all went only a few there.
5th Wed. Stormy. I was sick all day in bed. Mabel here awhile in afternoon. Father went to Belleville to see Ethel.
6th Thur. Fine. I finished ironing. Mrs Sills & Mabel here awhile in afternoon. Alex drawing manure.
7th Fri. Fine. Alex went to Bath & to mill. Father down in A.M.
March 1919
8th Sat. Fine. Alex got some more straw. I cleaned up the house Father & Mabel down in Eve.
9th Sun.Fine. All to church in A.M. & Elizabeth stayed at home
9th Sun. Rained. Elizabeth had a sick stomach, so we were home all day.
10th Mon. Cold. Fine. Alex & Walter took some saw logs to Bath & Alex went to cheese meeting in afternoon. Elizabeth & I went over to Morrows awhile. Morrows over in Eve.
11th Tue. Fine. I washed. Mabel & Elizabeth went to Institute & I stayed with Father as he is sick. Alex went up for supper too.
12th Wed. Alex, Mabel and I went to Miss Sharpe's funeral at 10 o'clock. Elizabeth stayed with Father. I ironed in afternoon. We went for Elizabeth in Eve.
March
13th Thur. Cold. Made cake & cookies. Alex & Elizabeth went up for milk.
14th Fri. Cold. East wind. We were up home in Eve to see Father.
15th Sat. Fine, east wind. Alex has a cold. Moved old pig in cowstable. Fred Sills over. I walked up home in afternoon for milk. Over to Morrows in Eve.
16th Sun. Rained all day. I wrote to Ethel, popped corn.
17th Mon. Rained.
18th Tues. Misty by times. In afternoon Alex, Elizabeth & I went to Bath.
19th Wed. Fine. I washed. & got fruit ready for marmalade. & cut out Elizabeth's dress. All went to church in Evening.
20th Thur. Grand. I cleaned upstairs. so we could go up to sleep.
21st Fri. Fine, chilly wind. Walter here helping Alex. Elizabeth went to Bath with Mabel. They were late getting home.
22nd Sat. Cold. Alex shipped 5 pigs at Ernesttown station. 19¢. I was busy.
23rd Sun. Grand. Up home for dinner they had white-fish. Over to Mrs Sills for tea.
24th Mon. Fine, bright. Father & Mabel down in A.M. Alex down to saw mill with logs. I washed. All up to Merton Mellows in Eve. for cards.
25th Tue. Perfect. Father & Mabel came down & done our chors & Alex & I went to town. Elizabeth stayed at home.
26th Wed. Very mild. I ironed. Alex made a water leader. Harold Sills over. Elizabeth has a good time playing outside.
27th Thur. Rained & snowed. Merton Mellow moved to Bath. Alex oiling harness. Baked bread. & did several little jobs. {in margin} Rawleigh's man was here today.
28th Fri. Cold. Snowed & blowed. I cleaned the home though.
29th Sat. Cold, blustery. Made pies. Bathed the doll, & had baked beans for tea.
30th Sun. Cold wind. Our people down in afternoon then Elizabeth & I went for a walk & in to Mrs Morrows. Mrs Sills & Harold over in evening.
March 1919
31st Mon. Blustery. Alex went to mill. I cut Elizabeth out a dress. I took in Eve
End of Month.
April 1919
1st Tue. Very cold wind. Father here a few minutes. I was sick all day. Alex splitting wood. Supper before dark. {illegible}
2nd Wed. Cold wind. I washed. Went to Guild in afternoon at B. Wrights. came home and all went to church in Evening. Geo. Switzer called collecting money for Arthur Hines as he has just returned from the war.
3rd Thur. Mild. Changed the pigs in A.M. In afternoon we all went up to Ed. Hogebooms. Alex wanted to see about pasture.
4th Fri. Fine. Baked bread. In afternoon I helped clean up seed grain. Walter was down too. I was very tired. Elizabeth played in the grain.
5th Sat. Lovely. Walter down to-day. Men finished the grain and sawed wood. Mrs Hill down for potatoes. I am working at a dress for Elizabeth.
6th Sun. Rained all afternoon. Elizabeth & I went up to church in afternoon with H. Sills. Callers: Mrs Morrow, Edith, Father & Mabel.
April 1919
7th Mon. Fine. I washed. Alex & Elizabeth went to Bath in A.M. Elizabeth came home, sick. Mrs Sills & Edith Morrow here. Men out up disc drill.
8th Tue. Rained all afternoon. I washed ceiling in kitchen in A.M. Elizabeth & I went to Institute in afternoon with Mabel at Mrs Switzer Houlton's had a nice meeting, bad roads. My Mother's birth-day.
9th Wed. Fine. Cleaned stove pipes. Ironed. Alex splitting wood. I took sick in afternoon. Took calomel. {mercury chloride mineral used as a medicine from 16th to early 20th century}
10th Thur. Showery. Father down in A.M. I was sick. Alex oiling harness.
11th Fri. Rained all day. I baked bread. J. Young a caller.
12th Sat. Fine. I cleaned up the house. J. Young here in Evening. Mr & Mrs Hogeboom & children here in Eve.
13th Sun. Got ready for church but thought we would be late. Mr & Mrs Sills here in afternoon.
April 1919
14th Fine. I washed. Alex clipped Polly & Duke at home. Elizabeth helps feeds the calves at night. Alex over to Morrows in Eve & Elizabeth over to Mrs Morrows for dinner.
15th Tue. Fine. Alex went to mill & the doll went over to Morrows & got a tooth pulled, she wouldn't let me do it. Saw the first boat to-day. I raked some of the yard.
16th Wed. Rained all day. H. Sills over. Nothing doing. Alex doing chores.
17th Thur. Fine. Alex raking door-yard. Herb Laidley called. I baked bread & buns. I went over to Mrs Sills & got our syrup. Elizabeth sits here writing with ink. She lives out doors.
18th Fri. Fine. Mabel down in afternoon. Alex finished the yard.
19th Sat. Alex went to station with pigs & calves. Pigs $21.25 Alex to Geo. Fretts in Eve. & the doll & I stayed at Morrows.
April 1919
20th Sun. Easter Day. Rainy in A.M. cleared. Alex, Elizabeth & I up home for dinner & then to church.
21st Mon. Lovely. I washed. Alex back burning brush & letting off water. Had fish for dinner.
22nd Tues. Fine. Father down & man came out from town & put cistern pipe in a terrible upset house.
23rd Wed. Very warm. Allison made his first trip. Alex took back the drag. Elizabeth has a cold.
24th Thur. Rainy. Turned very cold. H. Sills over in A.M. Took down the other stove. Fred Sills over. Father down. I cleaned some down cellar.
25th Fri. Very cold. Alex back working on the hill. Harold Sills over. Miss Morrow died this morning at 5.30 o'clock. Alex went over.
26th Sat. Snowed some. Cleaning. Elizabeth very sick. Mr Morrow over. Sent for medicine for Elizabeth. Alex went to Bath.

29th Tue. Fine. Elizabeth got up at noon. she is weak. Alex went to mill. Father & Mabel down in Eve.
30th Wed. Fine. Alex started on the land. Harold Sills over in Eve.

May 1919
1st Thur. Started to rain about 9 o'clock. Alex came down from the field. I washed a few things. Elizabeth very cross. Alex started the wood house with red oakes, has it nearly done. {some scribbles, possibly done by Elizabeth}
2nd Misty. Alex finished the wood house. I ironed. Not much doing.
3rd Sat. Misty in Eve. Raining hard when we went to bed. Elizabeth can't go out. I was out to see Mrs Sills a minute. Father down in A.M. Walter here all day helping Alex burn brush.
4th Sun. Cleared in the night. We all went to church in afternoon and a terrible thunder storm came up. poured rain coming home. H. Sills here in Eve.
5th Mon. Rained in A.M. Mabel here in afternoon. Walter here all day, they were busy in the {?}. Roy Frink & Alfred Jones here in afternoon.
6th Tue. Fine. cool wind. Alex & I started for town with calves & we had to turn & come back as they were not shipping. Father down & took Elizabeth up home. we went for her in Eve. We cleaned front room. {in margin} they buried Miss Morrow
May 1919
7th Wed. Misty. cleared in afternoon. Father down in afternoon. {?} to see calves. I baked bread & was busy.
8th Thur. Fine. Walter down until noon. Alex took 2 calves to Bath after dinner I sold them for $35.00. Mabel here selling tickets. Father called on his way home from mill.
9th Fri. Fine. Walter here until noon helping Alex. Mabel down & helped do the front room curtains. I did a big ironing.
10th Sat. Rained. I was miserable all day. I put up curtains & was busy. Harold Sills over. Alex had a sleep.
11th Sun. Misty. Over to Mrs Sills in Eve. Our people started for here so I called them in at Mrs Sills.
12th Mon. Cleared. Fine I was busy all day. doing different things. Alex digging post holds. {illegible}
13th Tue. I basked bread. Alex took young cattle up to Taveners. Kenneth Morrow helped him. 7 head.
May 1919
14th. Wed. Fine. I washed. Alex trying to work on the land in afternoon. Father took his fat cattle to Bath. Alex helped him.
15th Thur. Fine Institute having Wilton Play at Sillsville. we couldn't go as Alex hadn't time. Mr & Mrs Sills over in evening.
16th Fri. Looking like rain. Alex sowed a little.
17th Sat. A big rain last night. I was busy, In afternoon we went to bath as Elizabeth needed boots.
18th Sun. Cloudy. cold. We went to church in afternoon. & we went up home in Evening. Elizabeth made her first visit at Sunday school to-day. she stayed after service.
19th Mon. Fine, I washed. Alex fixing fence in A.M. & working on the land in afternoon.
20th Tues. Fine. Alex on the land again. I ironed. Chickens hatching. Alex came down at noon & couldn't go back on account of the rain.
May 1919
21st Rained. I baked bread. J Young here in Evening. Alex on land in A.M.
22nd Rained. We went to town. looked quite clear when we went but it was an awful day. Elizabeth was up home they brought her down in Eve. Harold Sills over & helped Alex milk.
23rd Fri. Clear. I washed all day. Cleaned the stove & scrubbed the floor. a thunder storm at tea time. Mr Sills here for dinner.
24th Sat. Fine. Walter here all day helping Alex at fence. Mr & Mrs Sills over in Evening.
25th Sun. Rained in afternoon. I am miserable. Father & Mabel down in afternoon. We were over to Morrows in Evening.
26th Mon. Fine. a terrible rain in Evening. I washed in A.M. Mabel down in afternoon and we covered couch. I am so tired. Alex cut the yard.
27th Tue. Fine. I ironed. made cake & in afternoon Alex took Elizabeth & I to Bath. we took Elizabeth's dresses down to Mrs {?}. had a nice drive. Ralph & Helen took Elizabeth & I out in boat the first time the doll was in a boat, a grand night!
May 1919
28th Wed. Fine. Alex & Harold went to town. Alex took calves & Harold took a pig. Mrs Sills over. Miss Sproule here in Eve a few minuntes. Fletcher came in Eve & will stay all night & help Alex with pig fence in A.M.
29th Thur. Fine. Alex & Fletcher put up fence in A.M. Alex working on the land in afternoon.
30th Fri. Fine. I baked bread. vanished here. & washed the good buggy. very tired. Elizabeth went back to pick flowers in the afternoon with Edith Morrow she is so very tired.
31st Sat. Fine. I was busy. Alex sowing. The air is most beautiful with the lovely blossoms Elizabeth picks flowers all the time.

1st Sun. {illegible} went to church & drove the good buggy the first time this season. Alex {illegible}
{illegible} Very warm. I washed. Mabel here awhile in afternoon.
3rd Tue. Very warm. I ironed. Mabel made two cakes. Elizabeth took very sick in afternoon, she had to go to bed.
4th Wed. Hot. Mrs Sills over in A.M & made sandwiches. Had Guild in afternoon & Dr came to see Elizabeth. she seems so very sick. Alex made our garden in A.M.
5th Thur. A little cooler. {illegible}

19th Thurs. Very hot. Alex took Elizabeth & I out to Ernesttown Station to catch the train to go see Ethel. Ethel met us at the station. I was so glad to see her. {illegible}
22nd Sun. Grand. Father's birth-day. Fletcher took Mr & Mrs Fred Sills, Helen & Alex up to Ethels & got us. had fine trip got home 12 O'clock. midnight.
