Raining very gently all day. first for weeks did a great deal of good as ground was cracking. But rather late for pastures. {illegible} badly in need cleaned stove. well. Thur June 7. Fine bright and clear warmer. I was in Toronto.H. so nice and warm I varnished kitchen when I came home. Oil cloth, dryed nicely. Mrs Smellie here in evening just as I finished. Fri Jun 8.
