July, 1927.
28 Thursday. Sultry & threatening. Waler shipped hogs at Elmira this a.m. Lincoln Weaver came home with him and was here for dinner. They finished up the hay today. Addison Reist helped and they brought in 7 loads. Earl & Ella spent the evening here.
29 Friday. Fine cool day. The men were scuffling corn & turnips. Ella picked some raspberries in Reist's bush this p.m.
30 Saturday. Fine day. The men finished scuffling and hoed some of the mangels. Allen, Marie and little Albert were here for tea.
31 Sunday. Perfect day. We wen to church & S. School this morning and up to Grandpa Krauter's for dinner & supper. They had a Krauter Re-Union and there were over fifty people there. The five children - Allen, Edwin, Edna, Emerson & Ella were home together for the first time in fifteen years.
