December, 1927 7 Wednesday. Mild & drizzly. Walter was butchering today at Jos. Gingrich’s. 8 Thursday. Very cold & stormy. Walter went to Elmira in the car. Vernon took 3 pigs out in the wagon. Born - On Dec. 8, to Mr. & Mrs. Milton Eix, near Floradale, a son – Harry Hilliard. 9 Friday. Cold & blustery. We butchered a pig here for Eph. Snyder and Eph. was here for dinner. 10 Saturday. Fair. We butchered 2 pigs here today, one for Mr. Brent and one for Kennedy Bros. and Walter took them to Elmira this afternoon. 11 Sunday. Mild. Walter & Elva went up to Grandpa Krauter’s for dinner. Grandma is sick in bed. We went to Woolwich church & S. School this p.m. Harvey Reist was here for tea. Walter skinned a cattlebeast at Otto Miller’s and stayed for tea. We went to choir practice tonight. 12 Monday. Cloudy & raw. Ella washed. Walter went to Elmira and stayed all day. Vernon & Harvey Reist worked in the bush and Harvey was here for dinner and supper.
