{in dark ink} January 1st 1889 Apr 9 1890 Through December we were busy getting up a tea-meeting for the benefit of S.S. Had C. O. Johnston to lecture at tea-meeting which was held on 9th.. Dec. Hadn't a very large crowd but made over $40. It was a lovely night. - Dave Bertha & I were waiters at one table and Ida Charlotte & Arthur B. at another & Annie, Ada B. & Ed. Blanchard at the centre table Six of us went over to church to-gether & sat up in front. Xmas day passed very quitely with out either skating or sleighing was at home all day. Started to write to Frank but Dave & Arthur came & Archie S here we cracked butter nuts & played games had a lively evening after all. Sun 23rd.. before Xmas Joe B. came down to church & he & Dave walked up road together & come in for tea Archie S also. Dave so comical kept us all laughing. Max C. called & all in parlor talking they all went at 10.30. I gave Joe B. a shaving tidy. On Mon 24th.. E.M. drove a load of us up to M P. Xmas tree. 2 from Brays & A. I & I & Arthur B. Joe B. there he took us to a slat. E.M. & Jane sat beside Joe B. & I. I got a nice plush perfume bottle off tree, Had a nice programme & tree. Got home at 12. Saw Mr. Jeeter there he gave a speech. All through Xmas hollidays it very quiet. Frid eve Arthur B. drove Ida up to Appleby litterary society entertainment. Sat eve Annie C. came from Toronto over Sun.
