Frid 8th.. March 1889. Expected Maggie Alton Sarah Alton & Ella Breckon over they came & S & I met with them over to see Lila Alton. Stayed about an hour. Then they came in for tea & went at 6. I painted floor after they went home. Had good time. Sat 9th.. After work done, I painted floor all over. It 9. when got through. Sun 10th.. Lovely day. I coaxing Alf to bring me home. He sleeping on sofa & I started to dress him put on his pants. Had great fun. Alf drove S & I up to Methodist church. Gertie her Ma & Pa out Gertie made me sing in choir. After tea we went "over home". Had a good sing. Stev & Mary Ezard & baby there & Josie & Lila. When coming home Phil holding lantern for Stev so couldn't walk home with me. I laughed to myself for escaping the talk. Mon 11th.. Alf drove me home. found Mary Thompson here. M.W. & Mary drove to Oakville. didn't get back until 3. P.M. suppose they went to fortune teller but couldn't find out for sure. Annie & I went over to see Edith & called in P.O. coming home. Dave & Arthur there & they walked up with us & came in house & went in pantry & ate pie etc. They just full of mischief. Archie hear talking & playing cards with girls Annie talked to him until 2 A.M. Tues 12th.. M.W. & Mary drove up to Street. Annie & I washing. Mrs McC & Ella called. A & M.L. went to teachers meeting. Dave & Arthur walked up home with girls & I up stairs & Arthur climbed up varendia post & right up to window & gave me candy. Wed 13th.. Very busy {berry?} baking. Frank came went over to see Arthur in P.M. Us singing in P M. F. stayed all evening. I out hot irons in his bed E.M. birthday 38 years old. Thursday 14th.. Frank went home at 10. after he & Annie had some gymnasium exersise. In eve, who should come but Arthur & Joe B. They stayed till 12. Annie & I playing cards with them. Frid 15th.. Mary went home at noon. I sewing all P.M. To bed. 10. Sat 16th.. Nice day through work in good time Dave called but I didn't see him. I writing in this. To bed at 10.
