17. Murdy left this morning for Vankleek Hill to be at the temperance debate, he & Pete Robertson Snowed this evening, if it Continues, there will be sleighing tomorrow. The Collage boys came home today.
18 Jimie went to Lancaster to meet the boys. Pete & Murdy, who won the debate. Ugly day.
19. Cold day, not enough snow for sleighs. Jimie took the sleigh to Lancaster yesterday. The road was bad Very few in church
20. I washed three blankets along with the other cloathes. Churned about 3 lbs churn twice a week. Killed two bobly jocks {bubbly jock = male turkey}
21. More snow today. sleighs on the road today Murdy was on the Branch yesterday, he went to Laggan by train today.
22 Turned stormy. Murdy got home in the evening Jimie is turning his big over coat

25. Fine day for Christmas All our folk went to the social Pa gave Birdie 25 cts We sent 1 loaf bread 1 cake.

Widow Duncan McDonald's (McKesec) died this morning after a weeks illness

30. We were all at the consert last night. Pa bot 3 tickets 1.50 The night was fine. And a large audience.

1. Saturday. Birdie Marion & Murdy went to Maxville. 14 of our villagers went to give some verses from Longfellow's Hiawatha. A dull New Year. D McCrimmon of Lancaster died today.
2. Fine day, not many in church Jimie drove Hatty home. Week of prayer.
3 Our folk got home between 10 & 11. last night
4 At 7 A.M. Mercury was down 22. below zero

6 Nice day more snow. Birdie got ready to go to W.F.M.S. at John Dingwalls but did not get a chance Jimie is drawing home wood

Murdy did not get home from Irraquois he went yesterday morning.
13. Soft the trees are covered with ice & snow two branches broke off the pine in our door yard. heavy branches are touching the ground.
