| 26. | There has been a new holy day, Kept this summer for the first time in Canada called Empire day, to be observed by schools & colleges, to teach children the history of their country and to be patriotic. It is to be Kept on the 23rd of May, the day before the Queen's birthday. There has been nothing said about the day, after Victoria dies it will likely be observed the day before her successors birth day. It was celebrated in fine style in Montreal on the 23, over 1000 children singing, patriotic And national songs.
