Putting roof on the on shed but did not finish. Thursday 23rd I left Saugeen for Hamilton to get the money, sent by our friends in England. I left Robert to keep day book. Fine and blowing all the day. finished roofing the on shed, Ground corn. Bedeck the [[?]]. Snow almost all gone. Friday 24th Raining all day. Crosssurveyor the path. and chopped a little fine wood. Saturday 25th Very wet alll day. 15 1/2 d lbs of white fish from John Est 1.11 d not Paid Sunday 26th Snowing all day. Monday 27th Fine the fore part of the day but clouded over in the afternoon. Father and Robert Underbrushing. Fred and Phillip hunting the beach after butter Tuesday 28th Dull in the morning. Fine in the afternoon. Underbrushing in the morning but after turnips in the afternoon. Wednesday 29th Cloudy with sunshine at intervals. Finished putting the white turnips and carted it 5 bag fuls into the cellar.
