ride. Watched Doug. and Dorothy play double Solitaire. Friday Aug. 20th. Cloudy day. Nice breeze. Did my Morning work and had my morning swim. Water cool and quite rough. (Doug says "billows " not "waves.") Went to Wiarton with Dr. Clarke. Had my crown cemented on which came off yesterday. Did some shopping in Wiarton. Went up to P.O. D. Clarke overtook us (Alice, Jean and I) and drove us up. Charles, Duncan, Nell, Doug and I went over to Lonely Island in the "Jutland" to see Miss Ellis. Duncan and Charles rowed over and Nell and I rowed part of way back when Duncan took Nell's oar. (I rowed all the way back - about 2 miles) In Nobody home so we walked all over the Island. beautiful Island - sand beach - Lovely cedars, tamarac, blue spruces etc. Waves had a lovely sound as they rolled up on the beach. Miss Ellis called here as Alice told her we were looking for her. Teddy Neelands & Jack Wyse arrived from Southampton by canoe. Slept in tent.
