came up in the evening and brought Charles' raincoat which he forgot and left at Oliphant. Fire in grate and also fire in the kitchen in the morning. Took S.S. collection down in the Morning and got draft for supplies. Friday Sept. 3rd. Warmer to-day. Had my cold bath. Charles feeling somewhat better but still had gripes occasionally. Did my Memory work. Worked in the garden for an hour. Worked at my centrepiece for an hour and a half. Did French and History. Walked around a five mile block Scene and home by McTavish's. Fire in the fireplace in the Morning & evening. Duncan was up in the afternoon. Public School started Wednesday but High School does not begin until Tuesday, 7th Sept. (after Labor Day.) Saturday Sept. 4th. Beautiful day. Lost 8 ½ pounds at the Lake. Hurrah! Went down for meat. Cut out scallops of my tray cloth and doily and did my mending. Worked
