from Tara Monday night. Charles goes to Toronto in the morning on the early train. Dorothy down at McDonald's to-night. Eva & her husband went home to-day after about ten days' visit here. Thursday Sept. 16th. Rained quite hard last night. Got up at 5.30 a.m. and got breakfast for Charles who left for Toronto on the early train. Got breakfast, Made beds. Mrs. Green came up for a few minutes & washed breakfast dishes. Dorothy and I got dinner & tea. I went down town with D. for Mail and went down a second time for North Mail. Washed dinner and tea dishes. Had fire in grate in evening - got quite cool. Spent evening by fire with Dorothy. I read "Now It Can Be Told." while she read "The Weavers." Friday Sept. 17th. Cool. Mrs. Ryan not yet back. Swept bath-room, nursery, dining room Library & downstairs hall, dusted then
