Wednesday Sept. 22nd. Beautiful day. Warm as July but quite thick haze in the North. Went down for meat. Too hot to work in garden. Wrote to Margaret Cameron and Winnie Ferguson ( re tutoring in French for Dorothy) and answered Irene Halliday's letter. Mar. McDonald and Vi Mair were here playing Bridge with Dorothy. Called on Mrs. Harry Adolph at the Elliot's on Mrs. Carter, who was sitting out in the garden and on Lena Brown who was out. Duncan was up after tea. Then Charles and I went to call on Mr. & Mrs. Wilson (He is Principal of the High School. Very warm at night too. Thursday Sept. 23rd. Very hot day. Went down for Meat. Worked in the garden (taking up potatoes) for an hour and a quarter. Worked at my centrepiece for about 3/4 of an hour. Wrote to Nell and to Clare. Went to Enterprise part at Mrs. M.A. H's (Alma got it up for her Mother as it was her birthday) Dorothy went to help Alma. From 10 a.m. - 11 15 a.m. I worked in the garden (took up potatoes)
